Jai Jagannath ji🙏

Hello, how are you? Today I come up with the story of Lord Jagannath of Puri. This is a pilgrimage destination for hindus, situated in the state of Odisha, eastern coast of India. There is a beautiful temple dedicated to Him, where He is considered  as living God, Purushottama, treated with royal respect.

This story begins with the death of Lord Krishna, after ending the purposes of his avatar on the Earth, Arjuna did the last rituals and submerged the remains into the holy river, and went for Renunciation to Himalaya, with his brothers and wife Draupadi.
There was a pious king ruling from Ujjain, Indradyumna, son of Bharata and Sunanda, he was ascetic and one of the gratest devotee of Lord Vishnu, and always pray Him to come to his Palace and grant him chance to serve Him. One night, while he was asleep, the king had vision, the Lord told him that, the next morning after having bath and sun salutation, whatever comes to his hand, he must bring it with him and put it into idol formed out of sacred neem log (daru) and worship it as living god, that is Him, the Lord Purushottama, Jagannath. The next morning, king did accordingly, and brought the Divine (Brahm tatva) to his palace, an astral voice led him to the sanctified tree, the logs were cut off it, but then who would be carving idols out of it, that was the question. There came a sculptor, he told the king that he would be doing the job on one condition, that was, noboby was allowed into the place of work until the completion of the task. The king agreed and grant him a place which was supposed to be privated and undisturbed.
It went on so for many days, one day the king could not contain his eagerness and excitement and peeped through the window, soon enough, the sculptor disappeared with idols unfinished, they were without hands and feet. Indradyamna was very perturbed,  and ask for forgiveness, and seek help from The Lord. Lord vishnu promished the king that the idols would be deified the way they were.
The king Indradyumna built a magnificent temple, installed the idols and placed the Brahm tatva into it. He invited all gods, and Lord Brahma, the creator of the world, for the consecration ceremony. On seeing the temple and idols, Brahma was very much pleased and asked the king for his wish. The king folded his hands with tear filled eyes offer his salutation to the Lord and said, O great Lord, the cosmic creator, if you are really pleased, kindly bless me with the wish that I should be the last member of my family, in case anybody is left after my death, he would only take pride as the owner and won't serve the society.
And in this way the great devotee pay his homage for his Lord and society.
After him, the temple was destroyed many times and rebuilt, finally into the form as we see today.
I pay my salutation to Lord jagannath and to His devotees.
Jai jagannath 🙏
